The SMA community officially recognizes August as Spinal Muscular Atrophy Awareness Month. This month, mySMAteam — with participation from UCSF Health and UCSF Benioff Children's Hospitals — is excited to bring to life a series of patient stories, new information and resources, and interactive challenges for the mySMAteam and UCSF SMA communities.
UCSF Health and mySMAteam will unite their two communities with the hashtag #SMASpotlight. This hashtag embodies the importance of SMA Awareness Month to shine light on the incredible work being done by patient advocates, caregivers, and physicians to empower people living with SMA.
Throughout this month, you’re invited to join us for a series of live events and social media challenges featuring mySMAteam influencers and UCSF Health experts. These events are designed to raise the collective voice of people with SMA, share experiences, and showcase the important work happening within the SMA community. Don’t forget to use #SMASpotlight all month to highlight what life with SMA means to you!
