Does Anyone Have Any Experience Collecting Social Security Disability Once Unable To Work?
A mySMAteam Member asked a question 💭

I've come to the point in my life where after 22 years of being able to hold down a very dependable and fulfilling job is no longer possible. This is on many levels very difficult, especially mentally.

I am struggling with trying to figure out how to get approved for Social Security disability. It's hard enough just getting short-term disability approved through my company, it's amazing how little so-called experts understand about the condition and have trouble understanding why it's… read more

Dating Delema
A mySMAteam Member asked a question 💭

How do you handle telling someone that you can't take them to where they want to go on a date because the place they want to go is not really wheelchair accessible..even though the website says it is?

So, the lovely person I have been dating really wants me to take her out to a Halloween theme park for her birthday. Asside from the billion of complications of trying to arrange a ride there, pick her up, arrange for my attendant to put me to bed at night and the steep cost of tickets more than… read more

Tremors And SMA Type 3
A mySMAteam Member asked a question 💭

My doctor believes I have SMA Type 3. Recently, I have discovered I have tremors. I think I've always had them, but didn't pay attention to them, blowing them off due to being hungry. However, I've also noticed that I have them when I'm not hungry. I don't always have them and they are not violent, but are annoying at times. 😆
Is this one of the many symptoms of SMA Type 3?

A mySMAteam Member

Zdravo, tudi jaz imam SMA tip3, pa nimam tresenja. Razen osteoporoze nimam posebnih problemov. Le pogumno.

Looking Much Younger Than Age?
A mySMAteam Member asked a question 💭

So, this is a bit of a funny question, but I noticed on an SMA news forum a common complaint was the fact that many individuals with SMA said they looked much younger than their age and presumably treated like a child despite being an adult. I felt like this most of my life and only now that I am...well...old...have I only begun to view this as a positive and not a negative. Frankly, I never really connected my SMA with looking younger but now am wondering how common is this? Is it more a… read more
