Hi everyone, my name is Francesco, I’m 27 years old, 1.67 m tall, and I have SMARD1. Over the past year, thanks to a ketogenic diet, I’ve lost almost 40 kg and now weigh 53 kg.

I wanted to ask if my current weight seems appropriate and what type of diet you would recommend for me. I recently read about an amino acid-based diet—how does it work? Would it be suitable in my case?

in regards to keto, have labs and check cholesterol level. Me? I listen to Dr. Huberman on spotify, he provides supplement advice, for example not all magnesium is the same, he recommends and I have been taking for some time, magnesium l-threonate. He also provides breathing techniques to reduce stress, or PTSD disabled have from living in able bodied world. I'm sure he is also on youtube.

I would consult with my doctor or a nutritionist to get the best advice. Everyone has a different situation and different dietary needs. Especially when it comes to vitamins, minerals or other nutrients we may or may not be deficient in. Good Luck. A healthy diet is important for those diagnosed with SMA.
