I have lots of digestive issues, and quite honestly until I joined this SMA team, none of my doctors ever mentioned SMA contributing to digestive issues despite seeing many specialist and as a result I often felt like people just thought i was making it up to avoid eating certain foods. I typically avoid sodas and carbonated drinks at least when eating as i find i am more likely to aspirate my food. Some foods...and it is difficult to identify which ones, have caused me severe breathing problems as they enter the air pipe and i become immediately severely congested to the point that someone has to press on my chest in order for me to cough it up. i eat very slowly avoiding conversations while i eat which is nearly impossible as it is normal human behavior to chat over a meal. Therefore i typically eat like a bird. Oddly, I rarely have trouble eating unhealthy foods, no problems digesting a greasy hamburger or fries, but I swear a big salad will kill me. Any gassy foods, which tend to be healthy leafy vegetables, i do in small quantity. Several small snack meals throughout the course of the day are best but rarely fit into my schedule. Hot tea works wonders ...i have become a real tea aficionado. Regular tea at lunch, decaffeinated chamomile or sleepy time tea at night, green tea when on a health kick. The warm tea really helps with cramping. i have also become oddly addicted to fresh squeezed lemon water (basically lemon juice with no sugar) after my middle sister accidentally bought a pallet of lemons at a food auction. I always feel good after drinking it but no good explanations why and I haven't had a serious cold since begun this routine.

I found my best overall benefit being vegetarian and vegan most of time but did allow for occasional pizza. Feel stronger at physical therapy and through out the day, much better bathroom #2's, easier to maintain weight. Also shake in morning with minga maca and cellulose early followed my protein drink before PT. Also magnesium l-theonite supplement.
